In 1999, as in previous years, Cam Pazarlama was active in sales to 116 countries and produced total export sales of US$ 350 million. Having played a major role in foreign currency management, credit planning and meeting the financial requirements of the Group, Cam Pazarlama will continue to invest to provide companies both inside and outside the Group with services to meet their needs. The insurance business in Turkey is a very competitive industry, both in terms of services and prices. The company meets the requirements of the Group in the insurance field while rendering services to 3,300 customers, both corporate and individual; 2,500 are Group personnel and 800 are non-Group members. There was a 79% premium income increase over 1998 figures on a Turkish lira basis, which later amounted to TL 2.1 trillion. The total value of premiums generated from outside the Group increased by 159% on a Turkish lira basis over the previous year to TL 537 billion. Plans for 2000 include increasing the consciousness of Group personnel and the public of the necessity for being insured and generating more business volume outside the Group. Expanding the market share in real terms and maintaining its position as the largest agent of Anadolu Sigorta constitute additional targets for the coming year. Camiž Menkul Dešerler A.Ž.

In 1999, the revenue from the commission on the trading of shares amounted to TL 155 billion and on repo transactions to TL 141 billion. Revenue earned on treasury bills and government bonds trading reached TL 40 billion and interest received from these fixed income instruments totaled TL 77 billion. |
