Bottle 4th century A.D. |
" I got acquainted with the
gleaming thinness of glass,
during the years when our room
was lightened by the flame from the
kerosene lamp. The stained glass
decorations of the medieval churches
and of the 16th century Ottoman
architecture, have contributed a visual
pleasure to glass. And glass found a
very
different, plastic elegance and personality
in the blue-and-white glass products.
Glass becomes livelier by love and
friendship in the goblets whitening
with raki each evening."
