Şişecam Acoustic Laminated Glass
Şişecam Acoustic Laminated Glass is Şişecam's noise control glass. It is specially developed to provide effective sound insulation in environments with high noise levels. It also shares the same security features with Şişecam Laminated Glass.
- Increased quality of life through the reduction of the outside noise level to a normal, quiet environment level.
- Contribution to the reduction of the harmful effects of noise on human health.
- Minimization of the risk of injury in accidents caused by people hitting the glass.
- Security against external impacts. Prevention/delay of entry in case of attack and theft attempts with tools such as stones and sticks.
- Blockage of ultraviolet (UV) rays, which cause the discoloration of items and fabrics, by 97-99%.
- It can also be used in Isıcam units, providing safety, security, and noise control as well as thermal insulation.
- Acoustic laminated glass with Low-E coating provides effective heat control.
Areas of Use
Şişecam Acoustic Laminated Glass can be used in places where vehicle traffic, airplane and train noise, as well as vehicle and horn noise (e.g. main streets and highways) are intense; in event and concert areas with loud music; in meeting rooms; in translation booths; in office partitions; and factories.
There is approximately a 3dB difference between Şişecam Laminated Glass and Şişecam Acoustic Laminated Glass and a 5 dB difference between Şişecam Clear Float Glass and Şişecam Acoustic Laminated Glass. In acoustic insulation, 10dB = 50% noise reduction.

Production Method
Şişecam Acoustic Laminated Glass is produced by combining two or more glass plates under heat and pressure with the help of special acoustic polyvinyl butyral (PVB) layers that provide sound insulation. Thanks to PVB, acoustic laminated glass absorbs sound vibrations, thus ensuring less sound transmission to the other side.
For effective sound insulation, similar precautions must be taken for separating elements such as walls, roofs, and joinery in the building.

Correction Factors
C and Ctr Spectrum adaptation values evaluate the suitability of construction parts about exposure to certain sounds.
These correction factors, called C and Ctr spectrum compliance values, reduce the Rw sound insulation measure of the building part due to noise generated according to the EN table.
A building part with Rw (C, Ctr) = 40 (-1, -5) has an insulation performance of 40 dB. Sound insulation is 1 dB lower for higher-frequency noise sources and 5dB lower for lower-frequency sources.

Quality
Şişecam Acoustic Laminated Glass is produced in accordance with TS EN ISO 12543 and TS 3539 EN 1279 standards.
